‘Global Experience’ – World5

31 Mar

World5’s release entitled ‘Global Experience‘ brings to the table a complimentary blend of musical flavors from all over the globe. Imagine music for any occasion and that’s what you have with ‘Global Experience’. I found myself just laying back and relaxing to the beautiful melodies and catchy grooves. This record made me want to sit back and listen to it, which is a rare thing with music these days.

The production is as clear as day. The tones, dynamics and effects all compliment each other, creating a pleasurable listening experience.

Throughout the record the Californian band stays tight and strong. Each song is luscious and beautiful, however at the same time, powerful and strong. The vocals especially sound powerful in some parts and truly compliment the bands overall musical direction.

Overall this record is one for those lazy, chilled out Sundays all the way up to a cocktail party. I found myself enjoying its smooth melodies and catchy grooves very much. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is after music for any occasion. A truly lovely experience and a wonderful listen.

We’re Just Really Excited To Be Here – Countless Thousands

29 Mar

Countless Thousands

Countless Thousands. Another disposable Indie band amongst a thousand others? Or a diamond in the rough? Ladies and gentleman, we have found our diamond in the rough.

With Countless Thousands release, ‘We’re Just Really Excited To Be Here’ we are treated to a delightful 16 track onslaught of catchy riffs, thoughtful lyrics and contagious, fun energy.

In the very beginning of this record, Countless Thousands introduces themselves with a beautiful but strong presence with the track ‘Overture’. After listening to this track, I had somewhat high expectations for the rest of the album. Was I let down later on? Hell no.

Throughout ‘We’re Just Really Excited To Be Here’, the band displays incredible diversity in their sound and style, with each song differing from the next. I found myself not knowing what to expect next! Countless Thousands is a nice breath of fresh are in a somewhat stagnant genre of music.

The production on the record is as crisp and clean as you could get. The dynamics are very clear and the myriad of tones cut through the mix quite nicely. The vocalist sometimes reminds me of Roger Waters, especially during the song ‘The Pirates Shanty’ (damn that song is powerful). Countless Thousands also seems to be an incredibly tight band and it definitely shows on this record. I would love to see how this music is translated in a live situation.

Overall ‘We’re Just Really Excited To Be Here’ is a fantastic record. It has everything you could want in an Indie record. Catchy riffs, incredible dynamics, wonderful tones and just a whole lot of fun to listen to! I’m glad I had a listen to this record and I recommend it to anyone.
